About the organization.
Light for Life Initiatives Inc. was incorporated in California on May 3, 2024 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation. It was formed by a group of residents in Fremont who had been providing assistance to families individually and sought to do so on a formal and accountable basis.
The organization funds medical treatment and education costs for individuals against documented need. Assistance is provided either as a one-off payment or as a continuing commitment, depending on the nature of the requirement.
The organization is operated entirely by volunteers. It maintains records of each case, retains supporting documentation, and reviews open commitments periodically at board level.
How we operate
Operating principles
Verification
Requests are assessed against supporting documentation, such as clinical records, prescriptions or fee notices. That material is retained on file for verification purposes and is not published.
Confidentiality
Individuals are identified only where the person or their family has consented. In all other cases details are withheld. Medical records and identity documents are never published.
Direct disbursement
Funds are transferred to the family, school or institution concerned. No intermediary is used and no processing fee is deducted from a contribution.
Volunteer operation
No officer or volunteer receives compensation of any kind from the organization.
Who runs it
Officers on record with the California Secretary of State. All serve in a voluntary capacity.
